Lorenzo Badie Sr was the first born of three children to Florence Robinson and the late Clifford Badie on August 8, 1963 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Lorenzo received his high school diploma from Suncoast High School in 1980. He continued his education at DeVry Institute of Technology in 1982, AS in Electrical Engineering, Decatur, Ga.
He returned to Plantation, Florida to begin his career at Motorola. He worked at Motorola for nineteen years starting as a pager technician, group leader and then calibration technician, until they closed operations. During his tenure at Motorola, he met the love of his live, Pauline Denise Badie. He later became employed with the Postal Service and worked there for 22 years.
Lorenzo, known to most as “Barkley” and “Uncle Lo, was a loveable person who enjoyed life and loved to make you laugh. His kindness for others was evident in his personal life and professional life. As a mail carrier, he greeted the kids by name, waved at everyone from his truck; always had a smile and a friendly word. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed cooking for his family. You could always catch Lo watching his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers anytime they were playing on tv. He also enjoyed watching his favorite movies “Life” and “Shawshank Redemption”. His favorite artist was “Prince”. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On July 7, 2025, Lorenzo quietly passed away. Though he may be gone from this earth, his memories and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Clifford Badie, grandfather Mr. Quincey Robinson and his grandmother, Mrs. Girlie McCuthen Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving wife of 43 years (married 35) Pauline Badie; his mother Florence Robinson-Paulk of Riviera Beach, Fl; 2 sisters: Michelle (Larry)Badie, of Palm Beach Gardens, Andrea Badie, of Daytona Beach, Fl; 4 brothers: Dexter Paulk, Riviera Beach, Fl, Reio (Linda) Badie and LaRoma Badie, both of Daytona Beach, Fl, Zollern(Teka) Badie, New Jersey, 2 daughters: Shanisia Badie, of West Palm Beach, Fla, step-daughter Laketra (Marcus) Carn of Ocala, Fla; 3 sons: Lorenzo (Cassendra) Badie Jr of Atlanta, Ga, Laphonso Terrell Badie (Zakirha), of Houston Texas, step-son Eddie Coleman Jr of Hampton,Va; 14 Grandchildren: Lorenzo Badie III, Taqueria Badie, Ariel Badie, Samson Badie, Sarabi Badie, Zo’mar Badie, Kiyani Badie, Ka’Maury Badie, Taevion Badie; JaNae Coleman, Tatiana Coleman, Marcus Carn Jr, Mark Carn, Maranda Carn; 2 step-grandchildren: Brandon McKever, Braydon McKever and host of nieces and nephews and other family members. He will be dearly missed as a husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
