Obituary
Scott Allen Rinn
February 14th, 1970 - December 5th, 2024
Scott Allen Rinn, 54, of Boynton Beach, FL (and previously of Lewiston, MN) died Thursday, December 5th, 2024 following a year long challenge with complications after a knee replacement surgery.
Scott was born February 14th, 1970 in Winona, MN to Gerald and Shirley Rinn. Scott grew up working on their family farm in Lewiston with his parents and his three siblings; Trooper, Cindy, and Richard.
Scott met his wife, Jill, as they both pursued a career in human services at Dakota County Technical College. They married on July 31, 1993 and shortly after, had their first child, Alexus - closely followed by Sydney and Morgan. When their girls were little, Scott and Jill found joy in planning for and building their home together in Lewiston, MN. Years later, they decided to pursue fertility support to conceive their son, Quentyn. Just when they thought their family was complete, they spontaneously became pregnant with Greyson - who unfortunately passed away in utero at 21 weeks.
Scott’s early life career was in the medical field - spending years as an Emergency Medical Technician for the Lewiston Ambulance and 20+ years as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher for Winona County, Gold Cross, and North Memorial Hospital.
After losing his wife, Jill, to breast cancer in 2018, Scott and Quentyn made a pivot and moved to Boynton Beach, FL - where Scott met his husband, Thomas. They married on February 23, 2024. Scott enjoyed working for Delta airlines - as well as living in the Florida warmth and sunshine.
Scott is survived by his husband, Thomas Rinn of Boynton Beach, FL, and children, Alexus (Chad) Marx of Renton, WA, Sydney (Grant) Hasting of Everett, WA, Morgan Rinn of Corvallis, OR, Quentyn Rinn; Mother, Shirley Rinn of Lewiston, MN; siblings, Trooper (Michelle) Rinn of The Villages, FL, Cynthia (Cliff) Thompson of Lewiston, Richard (Charisse) Rinn of Lewiston; mother-in-law, Joan Christopher, siblings-in-law, Jon Christopher and Jennifer Loebrick, and Scott and Jill’s 3 grandchildren, Gavin, Piper, and Maddox Marx. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Jill Christopher Rinn; Father, Gerald Rinn Sr.; and infant son, Greyson.
A celebration of life and private family burial will be held at a later date at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Lewiston, MN.
