Obituary
On a bright sunshiny day, Monday, October 9, 1961, Veronica Suzette Greene was born in Fort Pierce Florida to Henry and Ethel Mae Greene. God blessed the earth with a wonderful person which he created her with a special zest for life and fun. As a child she was mischievous to her younger sibling and was the next to youngest of nine children.
Reared in Fort Pierce, Fl, Veronica spent her formative there, graduating from Westwood High School and continuing her education at her beloved Florida A & M University graduating in 1985. Veronica met and later married her college sweetheart, Rory Jenkins, Sr (35 years). She relocated to West Palm Beach and later to Wellington Fl. Veronica was employed by Palm Beach Public Housing Authority as a supervisor for 38 years. As a member of Greater Faith Church of God, she committed her life to God at the tender age of 12, where she also sang in the Gospel Angels Mass Choir under the direction of Mother Bernice Pressley, and later sang in the Gospel Exposition Choir under the direction of Annie Mae Powell Ingram. Veronica loved her family, close friends, traveling, sight-seeing, football games, African culture and museums, and shopping. She was a faithful member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Veronica served as the family counselor to those in need, a layman dietician, and travel planner.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, God decided to call his precious angel home to be with him after many years of service to her husband, son, family and community. She heard the Lord say, “Well done my good and faithful servant,” took her hand, and said, “Now enter into the joy of my Kingdom with me. “
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Greene; brother, Henry Greene, Jr; sister, Janice Green Jones; and nephew Pastor Lavon D. Williams.
Her legacy of love and faith leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Rory Jenkins, Sr, son, Rory Jenkins, II, mother, Ethel Mae Greene, Brother, Michael Greene ( Judy), sisters, Joyce Barlow (Ozell (deceased), Virginia Greene, Jacqueline Brown (Gary, Sr), Sharon Drake (Lee), and Pamela Leverity; godchildren, Rebecca Sandlin, Nasya Lawson, Michael Brown, III, Cedrick Lawson, Jr, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
